I have just restarted my holden powered S3 109 after having the gearbox out to fix some leaks and replace the thrust bearing, and now discovered that the clutch is not disengaging at all. I have tried bleeding the hydraulics and the pedal feels right, but still not working.
Is it possible the driven plate could actually stick to the flywheel and refuse to disengage? I really dont want to have to pull out the gearbox again!

Yes, this can happen, and a seized bush in the flywheel is also possible. Either are possible if it has been standing for a while. If you remove the bracket that holds the gearlever, it uncovers a hole in the upper part of the bell housing. Through this, with a torch and perhaps a mirror, you should be able to see what the withdrawal mechanism is doing. If it appears to be releasing properly, do a search here or possibly in one of the other technical forums, I am pretty certain someone has described how to force the clutch to unstick.
