Sticky thread http://www.aulro.com/afvb/series-3/1...urs-codes.html is desperately in need of the colour codes for the 88" SIIIs.
We always called it National Parks green but of course it isn't.
I have heard spanish olive ????
Having some trouble working out exactly what colour my landy is. I've had a bit of a look through the threads but still can't shine any light on the matter. Can anybody help please?
Photos are in introductions and I can't seem to attach them here as well.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Well I am not sure I can add anything as to the paint colour but can I say love the diesel. Tell us your plans are you a rivet counter and you are going to do a full rebuild or just want a neat truck? Post some better photos if you can I will be watching with interest.
Good luck! I've been trying for some time to get a code for that green. Seems it only came out on a very short run of shorties. All the ones I've seen or heard were a build date around August Sept 76.
I too have heard it refered to as Spanish Olive and I seem to remember buying auto colour spray cans of that name. I guess get it matched by a paint shop and compare to the code for Spanish Olive. Mine never did have a code sticker but a friends did so you might fine someone with the code.
Good luck and let me know if you fine something.
Cheers

Thanks everybody for your replys. So far, the only colour I've come up with is "light green" or "pastel green", but no codes. I came across this web site, Land Rover Paint Man | Paint for Land Rovers | Specialist in White Spirit Based, Synthetic & Zylene Based Enamels where you can select a colour and " paint your landy". It gives you a reasonable idea, but no codes. Maybe I can take the paint name to an auto paint shop and go from there.
So Iro11, is there any middle ground between full rebuild and neat truck? I need to go right back to bare chassis as there is some nasty rust in the rear cross member, and for peace of mind I'd like to have a look at the rest of it. I'll probably do a full rewire as she goes back together as this will elliminate any worries in that department. With the body work some is good, some has to go. I think that will be a "wait and see" senario.
I'll have a fiddle with photos shortly, to see if I can work out how to post better ones, but progress photos will be slow as the drudgery of work gets in the way of the important things in life. By the way, I'd love to know what a rivet counter is?
Actually I've remembered that I have been told, by someone who has had one this colour, that it is Spanish Olive. Any paint place shouold be able to do a mix from that. Worth taking a piece to have matched however, small piece thats not been to exposed to too much sun like the inside rear lights cover plate or similar.

I think it would be safe to say that I am a rivet counter I have spent a huge amount of time trying to get my series 3 to be the same as the day it rolled out of Moorebank right down to the smallest detail, yes even the rivets. I guess a rivet counter is just how fussy you are.
Thanks Iro11, I guess wanting to get the wire colours the same as the wiring diagram puts me in the rivet counter basket.
Sorry to drag up an old thread, did you ever find out the name or paint code?
I'm in the process of buying a 76 SWB here in NZ that is that colour and it needs a few touch ups and I'm wondering if it's a common Landy colour.
Oddly the truck i'm looking at is Australian assembled, strange as there were CKD assembly plants here
You may find this is your colour it is listed as SIII by two websites in the UK and USA
Description Rover No. DuPont
Pastel Green RTC4041A 38504*
*For DuPont add suffix "A" for Centari Acrylic Enamel, "L" for Laquer, or "D" for "DuLux" Alkyd Enamel.
As for the CKD factory in NZ, you will find that verhicles did frequently cross the Tasman, often because of low volume models, it was cheaper to ship a small quantity than to run small production runs in both places and also when demand exceeded supply.
