    Transfer case Overhaul

I need to overhaul the transfer. Is it straight forward? What do I need to be wary of? W.

The T-case is not hard to rebuild as long as you follow the service manual or a Haynes manual. Be aware that if you have to replace any gears, a lot of the replacement gears are pretty average quality. Good original second hand gears may be a better way to go.

Thanks PaulthePilot. Ive had a good look at the gears and they look fine. the slider is a bit sloppy but the manual says thats desireable. Hmmm yes have to be a bit careful buying parts, there is quite a bit of not so good gearbox and transfer parts around.

Ive just bought a new gearbox mainshaft, 1/2 gears, new slider(synchro) and 3/4 synchro. All gears and synchro are LR genuine. Dont know if the mainshaft is genuine. does LR still supply genuine series III gearbox mainshafts? mainshaft was $120 new.
