I think we are discussing two different panels.
The au military SIII Land Rovers had a panel that had a square panel facing the middle seat passenger which was supported on two triangular brackets. This panel held the blackout switch, trailer lamp repeater and brake warning lamps. You could easily fit additional guages and switches into it.
The later civilian SIII Land Rovers (particularly V8 and Stage 1 Isuzu) had an additional panel that held a row of warning lamps at an angle for the driver to view. This one could also be called a triangle as the point faced the middle seat passenger.
Do you need one of these latter panels?

They are essentially the same, the military one just has a flat center section added. The civilian one has the two side panels meeting in the middle to form a triangle. Its fairly basic and some scrap alloy bent up and painted black would do the job.

The brake switch is a warning light, the switch part is just to test the light and show it is working. The warning light is based on a pressure switch on the dual circuit brakes that detects a pressure difference between the two circuits and sets off the light.

Diana, I've seen both types and either would probably do for what I want. I'm wanting somewhere to sensibly mount a couple of extra switches, maybe a power socket etc plus LPG controls. Currently I have switches and choke mounted next to the build plates on the firewall and with non retractable seat belts they can be a pain to reach. I'd like to move them to a better spot but still keep the original look and feel. I'm sure I'd find something else to mount if I could get hold of the larger size panel. I also believe there are companies that make an ally extension that fits in tbetween the 2 halves of the "triangle" panel giving it a flat front similar to the military version. I could easilly fabricate this sort of thing should I need more space.

Either type would suit my application, the centre of the "triangle" civillian panels can be extended with a flat plate to give a large face for gauges etc if needed (there are companies that sell this kit but would be easy to make). I think the flat type looks a little better and would fit more gauges but as I really only want somewhere to mount my lpg controls and move a few switches that are mounted out of reach on my firewall, the smaller type panel would be sufficient.

That's the one I'm after. Didn't realise they were plastic on the front (or look like it).
You can supposedly extend them with a plate to make it a panel with a flat front, you then fit an extended back plate to keep it all waterproof. The standard configuration would do me for the time being as I don't have extra gauges apart from the standard 3 below. Enough room for lpg controls, a power socket and a couple of other switches in it.
Do you have a spare one lying around by any chance?

Took the panel out of the S3 wreck yesterday.Looking at the pic from "The ho hars" Unfortunately it's not the one you are afterThe one i took out was just a flat panel that someone has fabricated out of apiece of galvanized sheet [should of had a look first aye]
So sorry about that chap...... but will keep my eyes open for one
