Tail light switch - part number/alternatives?

    Hey all

I need a new brake light switch. (the one that mounts on the pedal box)
Is there a generic part number I can use?

CLR has them but probably wont be here for the weekend.

    Thanks
    Ash

Essentially the same switch is used on at least one of the Holden Commodores. You can sometimes find them at supercheap etc. I saw one marked something like GMH/LR

Let me know the part number if you find it.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Brake switch failure options...

    If it's a Series III:

The reverse light switch on the gear shifter mechanism, appears to be the very same switch as the one used for the brake lights.

Just swap them around if you're stuck and in need of an immediate solution.

Obviously you'd have to adjust each one to suit its respective new role, via the thread on the switch body, and its retaining nut.

Mine cost me about $7 from the UK with some other bits I bought and was here in 5 days. Same switch for reverse on series 3 as brake switch. Someone had removed my reverse switch and fitted a toggle switch which is a bit of a silly thing to do. Passed roadworthy like this which is odd since the ADRs for 75 probably require automatic reverse lights - no manually switched ones.
