    water pump impeller difference?

    well I'm in the process of overhauling Willys' cooling system, long story short I got him a new water pump but noticed it has a different impeller from the one I pulled off him? The impeller on the new water pump is the same as an old series 2 water pump I have around. Just wondered why they would be different? and if one was better than the other ?

    cost of manufacturing, the cast item will outlast the pressed/folded one. but doesnt quite have the same flow rate.
