SIII SWB exhaust replacement

Hi,
I am presently restoring a SIII Lightweight and it looks like I need a new exhaust. Any recommendations on where to buy in Australia or do I need to source from the UK? The exhaust is a standard SIII SWB.

I note I can pick up a standard exhaust for about 20 pounds or stainless steel for about 150 quid in the UK but the 160 quid in postage is the killer.

"Drifter", one of the gurus on this site, informed me to try fwd.com.au (I think they're in Melbourne) for a SWB exhaust system. I haven't got to that stage in my rebuild but if you decide to ring them, I'd like to know how you get on.

Should be able to get one from Land Vehicle Spares, Silverdale (Sydney), probably your nearest, and it might be worth talking to a local muffler shop may be able to get one in for you. (Perhaps more accurately - willing to get one in. They are certainly able to.)

4-Wheel Drives list the system, worth a phone call to check availability. Freight might add a bit to the cost.

No - in Canberra they will make it as difficult as they can, in my experience. I was quoted a grand locally and ended up paying just under $400 for a full system for the Stage One from the UK - freight included.

They're the guys I got my Series 2 LWB exhaust from - freight to Canberra was about $12 or thereabouts.

Hi, Just looking at replacing complete exhaust, but mine has extactors not a manifold, does anyone know where I can get one of these, are they extinct or a one off maybe.

2. 1/4 petrol, 1977 SWB.

If you're looking for a new set of extractors, check out the Generic parts sticky thread above. There's a link to Genie in there. You can alternatively get new standard manifolds from companies like Craddocks in the UK, but mostly it's easier to get standard bits secondhand. Companies like Four Wheel Drives should still be able to do standard exhaust systems quite easily, though non-standard ones (larger bore, extractors,etc) are more a bespoke job.
