SIII Stage 1 1st gear stuck

    Hi folks,

I was just under the ol landy adjusting the handbrake...fixed the handbrake but now we're completely stuck in first gear
I've tried a little bit of force, pumping the clutch etc and pulled the cover off the gearbox but have no clue where to go from here.
    Any ideas out there?

    Cheers, Mick

With the cover off you should be able to see the selector rods, check the ones next to the first gear rod and make sure they line up in the centre, once they are lined up you should be able to move 1st into nuetral, IIRC, Regards Frank.

I seem to remember that once these boxes get worn the gearstick can get stuck between the selector shaft ends, so once the cover is off you should be able to see. Don't lose any little springs or detent balls when you lift the cover off.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

    Smile Stuck gear fixed!

Thanks for the help Tank and Dave, legends! I managed free up the gears with bit of fiddling around but all feels back to normal again...let's hope it stays that way.

    cheers again, Mick
