Is there any difference between chassis's?

    Hi all

Is there any difference in the chassis between a 109 wagon compared to a 109 truck cab?

Are all the outriggers the same?

    Thanks

    Hi Andrew,

Outriggers are the same but yes the chassis are different, primarily the dropped floor has lower supports from the chassis behind the front seat area and there are vertical supports from the outside of the chassis to support the area where the floor steps up again. Try and find a Series 2, 2A or 3 and have a look.
A 109" can be modified easily to fit a SW body however.

    Thanks Bob.

I am thinking of getting a wagon and converting into a cab chassis and building a steel and timber tray.

I can get a ute rear bulk head, so I assuming it is just a matter of removing the wagon tub and placing in the ute rear bulkhead?

    Thanks

I think you'll find the mounts for the station wagon (at the driver seat base) are different , But they can be cut off & moved. Otherwise all good.

In your case you will have to reinstate the brackets that attach the ute cab back (as SW are different for their dropped floor - ie almost flat) but no big deal there and reinstate the supports for the front of your tray that will sit higher and the tray supports further back also. Think that would be it. Alternatively, you could also fit the tray lower and have cut-outs in the floor over the wheels - have see that done.
