    109' ute

    sooooo......

    just got this..

can anyone fill me in? I'm just trying to find out more about it. or series 3's of this sort in general.

All I know so far is the history of the vehicle it has had with the last owner. Was last running 10 years ago apparently.

its fairly straight. good body. Original motor I was told. It's got a 'six' badge on the grille so I take it its the 2.6L 6 cyl. has a tropical roof and has hoops for the tub.

anything I should check first? I think its in fantastic condition.

but yes, I'll be on the S3 section more from now on lol

It appears to be a later 2A. IIRC the 6 was introduced around 68/69. As far as checking things go, my first thoughts would be to check the water pump as these are getting very hard to find.

The series three has the soft padded dash. Usually buggered and hard to replace.
Your model is better in my opinion
It has the "rare" tropical roof and also still has the sill panels. Most get taken off and lost.
    Good score

some of the differences between a 2a and a 3 are,
2a has a metal dash and instrument panel in the middle
yours has different side skirts to a s3
    steering wheel is different
    the grill is different
door hinges and where the windscreen mounts onto the firewall is different.
there are of course quite a few other things but they are the easy things to pick up.

    Hello from Brisbane.

Nice project and hope it works out.

Take extra care of that tropical roof panel - it is probably one of the most valuable parts that is on the truck, especially since it doesn't seem to be particularly damaged.

    Cheers
