Another thought was a small turbo charger...

should in theory increase power and economy.

    What do you guys think?

If your not going to rev it too high you may be able to get away with a small fix geometry turbo. Works well on diesels. You will have to sort out if your going to use injectors or if you are going to blow through the carb. A bit more messy with the carb.

I can't see it increasing economy unless you are able to pull much higher gears.

Definitely sticking with the carb. Due to it being rebuilt not that long back.

So if it was you. Supercharger or turbo?

Also what turbo/supercharger would you look at?

    Thanks in advance

I know a bloke in NZ with a 1968 series 2 petrol 2 1/4 with a cav turbo & a su carb. Was a LR experimental motor in the late 60's.It's a standard motor with a steel crank. He has done heaps of ks with no problems and goes really well, hasn't even destroyed the fairy overdrive it has been well looked after.I wished I took some pics when he showed me it.
    Cheers Will
