Restoring the steering wheel - which paint?

    Hi all

I experienced the dirty hands from a wet steering wheel the other week.

So i really need to paint it, but what with? What is the best for hard wearing?

    Thanks

Restoring the steering wheel - which paint?

I can't tell you what's best, but I can tell you that when I experienced the same frustrating issue I pulled the wheel off, sanded it back, filled the cracks with putty, and painted it with a can of matt black Killrust I had lying around. Lasted at least 8 years (when I sold it) without an issue.

Try some liquid rubber spray called "Plasti Dip". Coatings and Adhesives, Rubber and Plastic Coatings | Plasti Dip Interntional
Works a treat on even rough surfaces.
And if you don't like it, it can generally be peeled off if you try hard enough.

You can buy it from auto parts stores such as AutoPro

If you have access to it, 2 pac paint is the go. Once it's dry, you won't have another issue.

Any decent gloss spray-enamel will work perfectly and is far safer than two-pac paints,
