I was sitting in the front of the 101 drinking a beer having just installed a new passenger side seat for SWMBO....
The way we are doing most of the work on the series is that I do one side and Cam watches. He then does the other side but makes it look a lot harder... Comments then follow like 'You got the easy side.... Again!'
He is a fast learner though and getting the hang of swinging spanners. Well, a rattle gun a lot of the time, that's much easier...

Well, I've waited 2 nights for slack to post some pics but he hasn't, so I will.
The day after we stripped the brakes, I went and got everything we needed to renew them. Everything is now cleaned and painted, and reassembly has begun. Wheel cylinders are TRW, all seals. Gaskets, adjusters and shoes have been replaced.
Now Cam can post a few more pics showing some detail.
Here is a shot of one side partially reassembled.

Wow, nice work. Why is it that everyone elses work seems to look better than mine...Maybe I need Bearman to come round and kick me into shape more often....
I'm excited to see the end results on this build... should be good.
I'm just really fussy about putting stuff back together. If it isn't fully cleaned, depainted where nessesary, degreased, primed and topcoated, it doesn't get put back on. Close up, you can see some inperfections - but this isn't going to be a show car, it will be a daily driver. The aim is to put it back on the road as close to mechanically new as we can get it. The diff has been fully checked and is like new, so no action required there. The wheel bearing are also in VGC - they have been replaced at some stage in the past, so these were simply cleaned up and re used. Everything in the brakes, down to the springs are brand new and OEM or high quality parts are being used where we can/in areas that are more critical - like seals, wheel cylinders and suspension bushes.
It won't be a cheap or fast rebuild, but it should be a ripper when done.![]()

Ahh yes, thats pretty much where I'm trying to aim too. Brakes IMO - spare no expense, well that's my approachwish I could get discs, but budget wont let it atm.
Are you putting new road springs on?
At the moment, springs will stay standard. They are in V good condition and just require a good clean and new bushes. If the ride isn't what Cam is after, he can lash out on some parabolics at a later stage.
