The ADR 'seems' to say 1989 but the way it's written isn't clear.
Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 1/00 - Reversing Lamps) 2005
Not hard to fit, just drill a hole in the gearlever bracket, run a wire from the switch to the back of the vehicle along with a live feed, fit a reversing lamp. The genuine SIII items are getting expensive so maybe fit an aftermarket unit.
I think only one is needed.

Gilbert is now on the move again.
Got hold of two complete door tops, all glass and locks. No rust.
One good RH front door, no rust or dints, Locks included.
Front grill splash plate.
Front bumper bar.
Like new, Radiator.
Front windscreen Z section, and RH/LH door top parts for a soft top conversion.
All for under $100 :D
Now the BIG question.
Do I keep the Holden 186, OR do I pit back a 2,250 motor ????
The front section, under the Radiator was cut out to add the Holden motor. Narrow section added.
The Holden need rebuilding.
The 2,250 was complete with gearbox, but the Head has been sold.
Don't know what else would be removed.
Asking price around $50.
Are the Heads, S/H easy to come by.
It was bought as a none runner, but did start with white smoke. Coughed and stopped.
Has a Stromberg carby fitted.
On Gilbert, the gear lever appears to be moved toward the rear of its hole, by 1/2 inch.
would the prop shaft, have been shortened ???? Gearbox move back ????
Engine mounts appear in an original position.
Would it be easy to put back in ????

Took Gilbert for a run up and down the road.
Drove down the driveway, in high and low range, first gear, and he didn't jump out of gear. Will have to drive it in 2nd high/ low.
Played around out the back of my 5 acres, deep wet gully.
He went in and out with very few problems.
Maybe the use has sorted the gearbox problems.
Even sound quieter up and down the road.
But No top on.
I think he came from a dairy farm, so may have spent most of his past few years in first gear, low range.
Took off the filler/ breather cap, and pale white smoke comes out. also the exhaust tail pipe seems quite sooty, and smokey, so running a bit rich, and worn rings.

Took off the rear axle breather today.
Can this Item be pulled apart ????
I saw the ball bearing, so filled the hole with three in one oil, which then seeped out the other end, so no blockage.
I thought there must be a light spring under the ball, and it was stuck open, so tried a small screw driver to release the ball. After oil and air a few times, I could hear the ball rattling, quite freely, unlike when I took it off.
Is it only the weight of the ball that stops water getting into the rear axle,
or has the spring rusted away.
