Thanks fr the replies.
The fergy one has 10 teeth.
Have to take the NEW Holden one off and count the teeth.
Would it matter to the flywheel, which side it engages.
Rear on original, but some replacements listed on line, for a 2 1/4 petrol, look like the Holden front engage ones ????

Holden has nine teeth on starter.
If the ones that forward throw are made for a series then they should be correct and engage on the ring gear without any problems. The only thing is a two and a quarter ring gear only has a leading edge on one side.
Cheers, Mick.

Just a question about exhaust/inlet gaskets.
Two arrived in the kit.
One full length, the other 2, double hole alloy inlet gaskets.
What is the idea of the two ????
does the later one rely on a metal to metal seal on the exhaust side ????
Which fits which motor
Thanks

Timing
Timing gear done, new parts fitted,
10 thou between chain and slipper.
Doesnt quite go onto the next tooth, but read somewhere, don't force it, just leave it where it wants to sit, and it will sort its self out as the chain beds in a bit ????
200 lbs on the starter dog. Why so tight ????
Thanks.

wheels
Well a few choices of wheels.
2 on left, 58 is the only no I can find.
4 on right, only 2 may be ok, rust around valve stems.
One not shown, original on bonnet.
Will be shod in 235/85/16's I think.

sunraysia wheels
And 4 sunraysia wheels fitted, 31/10.5/15
How would the steering be with the wider tyres ????
Also the stick out a bit from the guard, and NSW rego may require flares to be fitted.
Had to do this to a Triton, when changing from Qld to NSW, a few years ago.
