I believe "JerryD" is in the process of fitting a complete 300TDi setup into his S3 Dormobile. I am not sure if he has started a thread on it yet.

Are you changing to coils or staying with leaf springs ?
Are you intending to use the Defender/Disco gearbox ?

Axles will be wider so you'll need wheelarch flares and you'll have to either modify the axles or the chassis depending on what springs are used.

Lots of conversions done in the UK, a Google search will throw some up, also some threads in 'Other-powered Series land Rovers'.

A Defender 200Tdi and stumpy R380/LT230 is a much easier conversion.

Still the transmission length is about 130mm longer than the current series arrangement although you could compensate by moving the engine forward the same as the Holden conversions to save some space at the rear.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Just found this :-

    Series III 300 Tdi Conversion

It mentions a coil chassis is needed to give enough clearance above the front diff due to the 300TDi engine placement.

A member of LROCV recently put a 200 tdi in a series. I could try and make contact with him if you would like any info.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
