Is it a black bottle around 300mmtall x 100 mm x 80mm approx. I may have a second hand one in my L/R bits . I will have a look today.

So as mentioned in another thread, my overflow bottle and cap exploded.
Looking for replacements, ebay and roverparts both want around 120 dollars for a plastic bottle.
Does the pricing sound right to you? Could i buy an overflow bottle for another model on the cheap or do i have to buy genuine Land Rover?
Thanks

Hi, MRR.
Check your local auto stores. My local Auto one has a overflow bottle kit, with bottle, bracket and tubing for $30.
Over flow bottles go brittle. the one in my wifes, 2000, Delica V6, blew a split in the Mitsubishi one. But it is a pressure bottle.
Never had a problem with the V6 in my 98 Mitsubishi Challenger.
There is a air bleed screw on the V6 engine, to allow all the air to escape the top end of the block.
This may be causing your overheating problem.
Have a look here.

I had a similar experience and I was also surprised at the cost of the replacement. Luckily I had a spare. But it gets my vote as one of the most ridiculously overpriced items I've come across. I love it that its black and you cant see the level easily!

Sorry , could not find it , must have sold it at the Military Swap last month.
Would have sold it for 5 or 10 dollars.
I probably have one off a stage 1, if I can find it you can have it for the cost of a post pack.
Will have a look over the weekend.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
The same bottle was used from about 1967 in the Series IIa through to the end of Series III. You can use a bottle off any of those models.

Thought I'd have one in the pile of Stage 1 parts I have, but they have a full pressure expansion tank.
Sorry I couldn't help.

So the overflow tube wasn't blocked, but this is where it attaches to the bottle.
