The backs are a steel pressing, bases are plywood, some have a frame around the base.
I'll have to check dimensions (I made some bases recently). I did find that if you had an adjustable seat the base needed to be a slightly smaller dimension.

    Seat bases.
    Fixed outer 18" wide X 17 3/4"
    Adjustable outer 18" wide x 17 1/4"
    Centre 15" wide x 17 3/4"

If you have the original frames for the bases the sizes will need to be adjusted to fit. Both my Series III's have the frame around the base and the material is folded round this then metal clips hold it in position.

I'll measure the backs when I get a chance.

I have a couple of sets to recover. I purchased an old industrial sewing machine, thread & automotive vinyl (not this stuff from Spotlight) was about $130.

Just need to get organised and do the job.......
