    New Restoration project '76 LWB

    Hi Guys,

New to forums and new to Land Rovers.

picked up my first ever Land Rover on friday for $500, 1976 series 3, with what I think is a v8.

So this is my first ever resto project with sound knowledge on cars, i'm in for a steep learning curb.

First of all locating all of rust, chassis has perished quite a bit, which will be the no. 1 priority.

In the process of taking panels off car, cleaning up engine bay.

Think i'll buy a sand blaster and grinder for my next tools.

if anyone has any input please go ahead, love to hear it

    Luke

    SLOW

Hello from Zimbabwe, but normally Brisbane.

Welcome to Series Land Rover ownership, an adventure you are unlikely to regret.

The next step of the adventure is to join SLOW (Series Landy Owners Inc) - application form is on the SLOW listing of this site under SLOW Chat.

Beyond meeting a nice bunch of folks with Series Land Rovers, there is a wealth of technical expertise to tap, trips around SEQ and northern NSW, pub meetings and access to cheaper registration for historic vehicles.

    Give it a go.

    Cheers,

    Neil (SLOW Secretary)

Gee.... I really do live in the wrong part of Australia.

Luke, Neil is correct, there is much knowledge here to tap into (that's what I do most... plus look at the pretty pictures ) I wish I lived near brisbane so I could get involved with some trips and things.

Make sure you keep us all up to date on where your build is at! I have one on here somewhere... Nick's 1975 Series 3 SWB
