    Did you look at the header on the page. Many of them still exist but with new part numbers

    I have attached a photograph of the main bracket (ADU710100 + ADU710110 ) that secures the seat belt top bolt. This bracket unlike most of the spare parts sellers is turned around pretty much to how it is fixed in the vehicle. There is a red arrow that connecs it to how the part is positioned in Baldrick. It is the same part.

    It has been superseded twice since 1974 and its appearance has changed. There is an Australian supplier http://www.roverparts.com.au/inc/sdetail/25869 and their parts list includes both the old part number (395586) and the new part number (ADU710100) for the right hand side brackets.

    You will need a left and right hand version. These are Part Numbers ADU710100 = Right Hand + ADU710110 = LH

    However, as you noted there a two big bolts in ADU710100 that are shown in Baldrick's photograph and they have to thread into something.

    The something is one of those right angle looking brackets that has the part number 395252 + the dog leg strap 395254 (RH) and 395255 (LH) with an assortment of bolts, washers and nuts. These small right angle brackets are obsured by the really large ADU710100 in the photograph

    If you get ADU710100 & ADU710110 + 2 of 395252 + along with the dog leg strap 395254 (RH) and 395255 (LH) accompanied by all their bolts, washers and nuts you should be able to happily secure the top anchor bolt of your seat belt.

    The next series of parts are to secure the inertia reel to where it is held to the back of the cab just near the fuel spout. The parts are: 395258 which is also needs 395414 & 395658 + a selection of bolts, washers and nuts.

    Remember, Land Rovers are a gift that keeps on giving. You think you are after one simple part however the list has a habit of growing.

    Hello Dark61,

    From what I can work out I have combined where all the parts go from their catalogue sketches and drawn lines to connect where they fit in Baldrick's photograph.

    I would still check with a parts supplier - however the parts numbers all seem to fit together.

    I will pull one of the complete units out of one of my vehicles tomorrow to make sure that things do go together and I will post up the photos.

    The parts you are showing go underneath the front lower lip of the rear tub. The bit like a little shelf that the seat box bolts to. The two holes are what the seat belt stalk and centre seat belts anchor to. The metal flat bar/strap like thing is bolted to the first bracket and the other end bolts to one of the brackets on the chassis side rails near where the battery boxes are in FFR 109s.

    You can see one fitted up in this worms eye image (or it would be a worms eye if the tub was fitted to the vehicle).

    The bracket you've shown doesn't look like the one fitted to your truck cab, it's a different shape.
    It looks more like the one below (which may fit the truck cab ?)

    First off - I have to say I'm humbled by all the trouble everyone's going to in order to help. It is very much appreciated. Thanks.


    After a good nights sleep - I think my major confusion is, as per my attached photo which is part 710100 - it doesn't look anything like the big bracket in Lionel's Truck Cab (to me) - so I think my question should be - does the bracket in Lionel's cab have a part number or is it a DIY job? I thought Lionel was saying that 710100 was hiding behind whatever the mystery bracket is - but now looking at the further helpful diagrams I think it may have been thought of as the same part?

    The parts in my 1988 catalogue state that 395252 is amongst the group for "Front seat driver and passengers harness anchorage"

    Yes the part 395585 (ADU710100) looks different to what it is on my vehicles' anchorage arrangement because it was most likely superseded by a less complex part.

    Having taken off the bracket made in 1974 it may have been considered to be over engineered. It is so solid that it would have been expensive to make.

    My 1975 Land Rover Series III Parts Catalogue does not even mention "Seat Belts" or "Seat Harness" in the index.

    I have four vehicles with the same bracket arrangement to hold the top anchor bolt for the seat belts. So I do not think they would be a backyard made part.

    Somewhere between my vehicles being made and the 1988 parts catalogue coming out the system for securing the top anchor bolt must have changed along with their associated parts.

    The parts I have mentioned with part numbers is what the current parts are to do the same job as my over-engineered 1974-75 versions do. Anchor the top seat belt bolt.

    The same job could be done with a piece of angle iron that attaches to the roof channel. Weld on a couple of captive nuts. Get some lengths of square or rectangular hollow section so they go vertically from the roof channel down to the main tub top. Weld the two lengths of hollow section at the top to a piece of plate. Drill some bolt holes into the plate so bolts can connect to the bit of angle iron secured to the roof channel. Weld another piece of angle iron to the bottom and drill one hole through it so it can fit through the pre-existing bolt that secures the cab side to the tub. Then Bob's your aunty.

    Possible Fit

    Hello Dark61,

    I could have the placement of the new bracket (ADU710100) on the wrong side however I would imagine that it fits like this. A much more simpler set up than what my vehicles have.

    I am not sure how long the bracket actually is or even if I have it crossing on the wrong diagonal or it could even be upside down?

    My bracket has two bolt holes up the top and only one down on the bottom - they could have followed this pattern with the new bracket ???

    If you go to this link it shows the same bracket however the inside face is shown - the side that goes against the cabin wall and cannot be seen once it is installed. The photograph shows the mounting bolt welded to the bracket. Two bolt holes to what I presume goes straight into the roof channel - there could be a bracket?     I actually found a parts supplier who provides a sketch of how the part fits!!!!

    From the sketch it looks like the placement of the bracket superimposed over Baldrick was close to the mark

    Oh of course the Land Rover Workshop people do not provide a clue to how the top part of the bracket fits. Since the bolt holes are at the top of the bracket ADU710100 they may just go through bolt holes in the roof channel with a piece of reinforcing plate?
