Hi Lee,
You definitely won't need to drop the gearbox. You should be able to get to all that from above but you will have to take the floor panels and the tunnel cover out. Once you have it out you may be able to replace the pin alone or you may need to get the whole unit. The springs are fairly easy to get hold of and to replace if you need them. If you need the whole piece then just talk to the Ho Hars on here (Series Landy Rescue) as they would have a working second hand part for sure.
