Can anyone tell me what the two upper warning lights are for in the centre of the dash?

The bottom one is a "Hand Brake" warning light. The top one may be brake related as I noticed it come on on a test drive which seemed to coincide with a loss of brake boost?

One is park brake.
One is centre diff lock.
Don't know what the third is. It's never lit up.
Chris.Incase you arent aware,where that silly old wireless is,there are cut outs to fit 3 aux gauges.Thats been butchered for a wireless,you may be able to get a spare dash section off your parts Landy;);););)

I have another lower dash unit with the three instrument cutouts. I'll be doing a bulkhead replacement in a couple of months and am going to build a good dash out of various bits and pieces, with a few modifications along the way for a radio and a couple of extra switches.Quote:

The light might be a brake fail light. The later Series 3 that had a dual circuit system had a unit with a switch that would detect failure of one of the brake circuits. It basically had a rod with a detent that would get pushed one way or the other if the pressure at either end of it was different and that would set of the warning light. From memory there may have been a couple of other ways to set it off as well, related to the brake light switch I think.

Well today was the first day of the refit. Spent the day getting the bulkhead ready for removal by stripping off the guards, windscreen, floor plates and various wires.

Next weekend will hopefully see the bulkhead and gearbox removed. I have a gearbox rebuilder lined up so that should be good to go. Then to give my fresh bulkhead a coat of paint then transfer all of the gear across from the old bulkhead, with a freshen up of the dash to happen at the same time....

I dont know if you have seen it,there is a brand new Ser3 galv bulkhead in the markets at a very good price.Out Mick Marshs way too so easy local pick up.Then you have to get it here:(:(:(:(:(

Thanks for the heads up Andrew. Its a 6cyl bulkhead so different tunnel from mine. The stage 1 v8s used a 4cyl bulkhead.Quote:

I am removing the gas conversion and going back to straight petrol. There is a mixer (or something like that) on the bulkhead that has coolant fed through it (the two hoses red arrowed). Any idea what I need to do with the coolant hoses? Should they be capped off or looped together?

I'm guessing your heater wasn't connected. These hoses should have been connected to the heater box. Providing the inlet manifold bypass hose is still present (from next to the carby to the back of the water pump) you can cap the fittings if you're not having the heater.
