    Reverse light wire colour

    Hi All,

I am wanting to add a series 3 type reversing light to my series 2A, and since I am rewiring the vehicle using correct wire colours according to the 2A wiring diagram I have, I also want to use the correct wire colour for the reversing light wire.

Can some one please tell me the wire colour used for reversing light(s) on a series 3 ?

    Thanks
    John

    Wiring diagram

    Hello from Surabaya.

I don't have the diagram with me but I think you can access one at:

    https://www.scribd.com/mobile/doc/10...-Wiring-Manual

    Number 66 & 67.

I can't read it clearly on my phone screen but I think it is green - it should be clearer on the printout or a large screen.

    Cheers,

    Neil

Thanks Neil, I can just make it out on a 23" monitor, and yes it does look like green.

I also found this link : Lucas wire colour codes for Land Rover

which implies green with a brown trace, which I guess conflicts :-(

I'll just run green I think.

    Cheers,
    John

    Spoiled for choice

    Hello again from Surabaya.

Looks like you're spoiled for choice.

At least the green bit is consistent - the tizz is optional. Although, between one real truck and the web guide, green with the brown trace might have edged out the competition a bit.

    Cheers,

Yeah, definitely green with something, so I think I will go green with brown.

Next question, what colour are the wires going to the PDWA on a dual brake circuit S3 ?

    Cheers,
    John

    Not sure

    Hello again from Madura.

Don't know the answer to the wire colour question, but while I was ferreting around the web looking for a clue I did come across this site which might be useful for your reversing light project:

    Fitting Reverse Lights

    Hope so anyway.

    Cheers,

    Hello again, again.

Your list above and this site (Land Rover FAQ - Repair & Maintenance - Series - Electrical - Reference - Wire Colors) seem to suggest black/light green as a possible candidate.

    Bring on the experts....
