    Game features and unknown number

    Hi All
New member here and keen to absorb some of the vast wealth of knowledge that is out there !
I have a 9/77 88" Diesel which appears to have a few Game features (bumperettes, wheels, some internal linings, o/drive, wheel arch flares) but it certainly isnt yellow and doesn't look like it ever has been !

There is also an extra set of numbers stamped at the top of the cab data plate but I cant find anyone else referring to having "extra" numbers like that ?

Will get some shots of the vehicle up at some point but any input with its ID and to get me going in the right direction very much appreciated

    Hi Kev,

That number on the plate is definitely not a Game number. Only a few hundred Games were made and all the numbers I have seen are between 100 and 400.

I think that most of the Game parts were actually available to order but only on the Game were they all put together as a standard set of features. I believe the wheels even turned up on some Range Rovers from around the same time.

Will be good to see some pictures though .

    Cheers,

    TimJ.

Correct. Most of the Game features were from the options list. Exceptions to this were, I'm pretty certain the paint, and probably a few other minor items. But the organisation of the business was such that even these could probably be ordered if you really wanted them and you or your dealer knew the right people at Leyland Australia.

This example may be someone who wanted the Game features but wanted a diesel.

Calvin lists the chassis number (if I've read it correctly, is the 3rd number a 3 or an 8 ?) as originally with a petrol engine. Clifton Scientific Text Services, the Netherlands

Is the second number the Pressed Metal Corp number, usually on a separate plate ??

OK, '8' makes it a diesel.
Pressed Metal Corporation were the company in Sydney building up the CKD kits Pressed Metal Corporation - Wikipedia
Land Rovers came with the std. LR chassis plate and also a small Pressed Metal Corporation plate with the local build number.
