    yes, understood. I did managed to get the engine going but the rotor arm and plugs were pretty grotty. I had to turn it off as there was smoke coming out of the wiring in the dash. Some of that is pretty scary so I have tried to remove all the non original stuff. I might just pop the fuses out before I try again..

    About 25 odd years after I did my 1st restoration & made my own harness I was at a car show in my 80" & leading the grand parade with the guy who ran the show in the back & the LR stopped with smoke coming out of the dash. How embarrassing . What I found was way back I had pinched one of the wires between the instrument panel & dash , it took over 25 years to rub through . On the 2nd rebuild / tidy up I bought a new harness . I made sure the wire was not caught this time.
