depending on what you want to do with the engine will depend on wht mods you do to it.
you can shave it enough to get the compression up to 10.5:1 but I dont think thats such a great idea
for longevity of everything leave it stock. the best supplier for the bearings n rings n things is the place that does the machining for you, unless your doing it yourself in which case somewhere like four wheel drives in melbourne or M R automotive in redcliffe QLD is the shot.
A slightly taller cam with a touch more overlap can make the world of difference to them especially if you get a set of extractors to suit the rev range you get the cam sorted to. but this makes field repairs a bit trickier as all the specs for bits n pieces wont be by the original book.
As for the carby stick to the zenith if your going to go off road as the holdens are renown for flooding and starving at high angles while offroading.



I have some mechanical nouse, so plan to rebuild it my self but have some questions.
