    Started working on S3 today

    Hi,

Got my Series 3 in the garage today and started work on it.

Just Jacked the front up and had a quick look around. Whipped the Front drums off....and found the Nearside fallen apart.....so glad I did not drive it home now. Could of been well dangerous.

Anyhow. Need Wheel Cyls, Front Prop U/J, Rear Shock, Missing on Offside, Gear stick welding, Fuel tank leak sorting, Poss front diff leak sorting. Thats without having a proper look.

Guess I am going to be busy over the next few....well was going to say weeks but probably months....Well it is a start anyhow.

Any ideas wheres the best place to go for the above serviceable parts?

    Hi,

I have had it about two months but had mum over visiting so been dead lazy.

Not sure what to do with it yet. In terms of repairing.

Had asked on here about changing the engine to a more modern one. Currently have a Holden 202.

Plenty of time to think about that.

Try and get the basics sorted first so I can at least move it about.

Will upload photos,Got some of pre start, when I have worked out how.

    Good Luck Chilly,

Depending on what you need you could consider looking for another donor vehicle to scavenge for parts. Plenty of them appear on ebay etc..

I'll keep an eye on your thread for pics - I'm needing all the inspriation I can get before starting on my SII.

    Hi,

I had thought of getting a donor but dont have that much room here. Well I do but it is a rental and I would get thrashed if I started piling the vehicles up.

I have looked on Ebay too.

What is the hold up on your S2

    Hi Chilly
All your brake hydraulic bits are cheap.Repco should stock them,as they arent Landy specific parts.
    Goodluck,enjoy!!!

Still waiting on driveway to be finished not moving as quick as I'd planned.
I don't have a lot of room either but plan on dismantling the donor as soon as I can. Will recirculate the bits I don't need through here or ebay. I only paid $400 for a donor with no engine but lots of other good bits that I need.

Just buy a carcover and throw over it - the landlord wont even notice

Would be good to get a donor and would Love to throw a cover over it but the neighbours were asking about my Series 3 after a few days.

Will be ok when I get my own place.

Nice wagon Chilly. Looks pretty straight .
You should be able to fix your brake/uj/shocker issue without too many dramas. Good Luck, keep us posted.
