LOL keep a dustpan and brush handy to sweep up what used to be gearbox off the road.

Humour aside ... the Green Avenger ... a bog standard 88 inch 2.25P was achieving about 16mpg around the burbs and possibly 22mpg w/- overdrive on the highway. As has been said above ... keep the speed down. This will also avoid rapid braking manouvres ... sudden slow downs in a Series Landy from speeds of up to 100km/h or more are a bit of a brown trouser job.

Now the Avenger has a Stromberg BXOV1 from the early holden on it and extractors. The holes through the throttle body needed elongating and the throttle arm extended. It pops a bit on over run so might need to jet it down but before the speedo packed it in I was getting 18mpg around town. Hoping to extend these favourible results when the electronic ignition is sorted. That is another matter for another thread.

I usually get high 9's to low 10's from mine when pottering around. On a recent trip from Bris-Perth, (7000km) we averaged about 11.2l/100km, As we had 2 ppl + 700kg of gear on board, and were doing sustained speeds of up to 95km/h some days. Economy seels best if you stay at 80km/h or less on the highway.
