Robust Suspension Kit on Ebay
anyone know anything about these?
I want to improve the ride of my 109 GS - the springs are practically seized, and even if i were to remove the originals, remove a leaf or two and clean them up, i have no access to a spring works to reset them before refitting, nor any local suppliers of shocks, etc.
So does anyone know anything about these kits on ebay?
i'm assuming that the shackles in the kit aren't compatible with my army chassis, but would the rest work, and if so, how might they perform?

They are definitely parabolics for a LWB. The price seems reasonable. But will cost $$ to ship to WA. Just sent a rear LWB tail shaft and that cost me nearly $80.00 from Syd to Melb. Ouch....

They are NOT parabolics. The picture shows semi-elliptic springs. Furthermore, the springs shown in the pic won't fit a landie. They have offset centre bolts, among other issues. I suspect they are toyota springs. If you are considering bidding I would call the spring works first. Most offerings from OZ spring places are STIFFER than stock - which defeats the purpose...
I have posted several times on here how to mod semi-elliptics if you want to DIY.
The construction does look similar to the parabolics I have bought, but yes they are thicker and look to be made up of some short leaves as well, parabolics only have full length leaves, but it's a pretty bad photo. You should just give these guys a call and ask them what they are and whether they have any previous Land Rover Series customers you can talk to. My parabolics were $880 for the full set, plus the cost of shocks to suit $660, plus bolts, bushes etc. So if they were parabolics that would be a good price. From my "adolescent" Land Rover experience everything I have read or been told tells me that parabolics will give you a softer ride, but as yet I have not had a chance to try them. Isuzurover also has a good thread on how to modify existing springs, but my springs were beyond repair and the rear pair were different to each other! Here's the new ones I have:
done some digging - they are semi-elliptics, and the photo is taken from their website but is not a set for LR - thought the whole lot looked a bit wrong.
i'll check with the company as to what they offer for LR and get back to you all.
cheers!
