    The one I had years ago had them mounted at the top like the one in the pic.

    Maybe they are normally mounted at the bottom and mine was modified for some reason.

    Just searched through Google images for Series 2 LRs and they are all mounted on the bottom.
    Looks like my ex one and this one are the odd ones out.

    I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I reckon all Land Rovers have wipers at the bottom of the screen.

    Wipers were mostly swung from the top of the windscreen from when they were first fitted, possibly because most windscreens opened then. Swinging from the bottom became more popular as windscreens became fixed and also as they started to have more rake.

    All Landrovers ever built came from the factory with them at the bottom, and it is difficult to see why anyone would ever go to the trouble of moving them to the top, although it could be someone rather tall who wanted to sweep the top corners of the screen.
