Hi guys I was just wondering if anyone know weather you can lift a 5 door wagon body off the chassis in 1 hit?? not including the seats or front floor only the bulkhead, guards, roof and doors.
The reason for this is I have found a 110 chassis for next too nothing and was planning on fitting the stage 1 body too it.
Any ideas let me know thanks
Adam
yes but its a painfull way of doing it. youre better off doing it in parts replacing the fastners and seals as you go.

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
As Dave says, it can be done - but it would almost certainly be easier to do it in bits.
As far as fitting a Stage 1 body to a 110 chassis, note that the axle locations and hence wheel arch positions are different by a few inches. Also, the vehicle will acquirre the identity of the chassis, and hence have to meet ADRs for it, although I don't think there is much difference between the Stage 1 and early 110.

You need to make a lifting jig with four well padded legs that lift under the tops of the door openings coming to a central point with a swivel or shackle to attach to a chain block, air/electric cable hoist, comealong etc. This is how bodies were lifted on to the frame on an assembly line.

Just another thought I have been reading that the defender is about 20mm longer o/a, would that affect the body mounts or are they all they same.

Inches Adam, its a Landrover not Landcruiser
109" wheelbase series 110" wheelbase County onwards.
Saw a 109" van at the MudnGuts Poppo. It had a coil spring conversion. It didnt look quite right, the rear wheel didnt match the wheelarch,it was too far forward,so guessing it was possible that Range Rover gear was fitted.
As you are going the opposite direction rear wheel should be slightly further back,by time you fit +4" coils the wheel will be almost where it should be
Interseting project.
