worn syncro dogs on second gear.
you either learn to hook your left leg onto it, hold it with one hand or go down in first or rebuild the box. $500ish in parts including all bearings and syncros.
Hey all,
While tackling some fairly solid 4WD tracks on the weekend I found that the gearbox likes to jump out of 2nd gear when using low range and going downhill (off throttle, using engine braking)
Obviously this is dangerous, luckily it did it the 1st time on a fairly easy slope!
Any idea what the cause could be?
It has never done it in any situation except as I described above.
BTW if anyone has a chance to drive around in the Styx river area I would recommend it, good fun.
Cheers,
Ash

Yep, same thing happens in Clancy. Banjo does it in third just for a bit of variety. You do get used to holding it in with the left hand or leg or using another gear.
