    Series Diesel Conversion

    Hi everyone,

I have sourced a diesel motor I want o put in the series. I don't know much about it, only have a picture.

How do you think the gearbox will hold up?

You might need a body lift to fit that under the bonnet.

you might be able to use the gear box to adapt the existing engine to start it....

Gearbox will be ok, but you will have to beef up the suspension

    WHATS WRONG IT WILL FIT

If its a 109, I would put it in the cargo area, turn the gear box around a 180 deg and it should fit a lot easier than trying to put it under the bonnet. leave the raditator where it is You would have to change the length of both tail shafts though This way you would have the only rear engine landie most likley in the world.

i was once at a clearance auction and a cat V16 with air compressor in a trailer.most of the trailers had twin layer of doors for sound proofing.one only had a roof so it went for scrap price.these air compressors had no air tanks.

what you do is tow the trailer and fit an air/hydrolic or electric motor to the 109.then drop the trailer for shopping runs.
