Today I have just used LRdirect.com - they are much the same as paddocks & LRseries but their website gives you the shipping cost straight away. The shipping cost was 40gbp for express parcel upto 150kg - I only had about 6kg
but I think LR series would have charge me about 70gbp. maybe depends on size as well as kgs.

The only drawback seems to be they only use part numbers - can't seem to search on the description.

    regards
    Steve

LRDirect.com are good because for most things they give you all the options of quality & brand of the same part you want, some parts even have three levels of Britpart , Britpart rubbish, Britpart OEM & Britpart LR, plus they usually list Allmakes , Bearmach , LR in a plain box, and then Genuine Landrover

I assume when Britpart is the supplier to LR for a particular part then that part is the same as the Genuine item

Its easy enough to find the part numbers many other ways.

EG check out 12 versions of the same tie rod end.

    https://www.lrdirect.com/RTC5869-Tra...keep_https=yes

LEMFORDER is the Manafacturer of the genuine item,
    Britpart supply them to Landrover.

You don't get the same level of choice from any other online or over the counter parts source that Ive found.

For those of you who have done this and have been satisfied with the quality and service from certain dealers would you please share with me/us with any extra information as possible. I am about to get a list and do some searching as i will be getting stuck back into it over the next few months....hopefully

    Het Buddy,

sorry for late reply but i just ordered some parts (expansion tank (britpart unfortunately, but my own fault) and drive belt tensioner assembly) from DLS through their ebay website. the cost was by far cheaper than i found anywhere. they mixed the postage for both items ended up costing me about $130 for both parts delivered. the tensioner is DAYCO.

the most amazing thing is that i ordered them last frday week and they arrived last thursday. so took less than 1 week from UK near the xmas period. I was amazed.

they seem like a very good outfit. ive ordered parts from australia and they have taken 3 weeks sometimes.

anyway hope this helps. PM me if you want more info. ive also found some more obscure parts from other suppliers if you are looking for something in particular.

I used to use Paddocks because I found they had good prices which they still have but their cartage prices now are too expensive for me to buy from them. They say that the size of the parcel makes a big difference in price.Other places are still reasonable so the question is ...why don,t they change carriers.
