its one thing after another with the 109. Windscreen wipers/ reservoir carked it Thursday - now I have a core plug leak having just flushed the rad and changed the coolant. I'm almost at the Basil Fawlty hitting it with a branch moment. I'm up for breaking anything on the way to getting the l/h guard off , accessing and changing the Core Plugs.
cheers,
D
Sorry mate, but I had to laugh, especially the Basil Fawlty bit.
My mudguards came off easily... all except for one bolt which, of course, was the least accessible - that turned into a marathon as I had to use the socket wrench all the way to get it off and it fought for every tiny bit of thread. Remember, the two half way down (beside the firewall bulge) only have to be loosened and the mudguard just lifts off - I didn't realise this on my first one and took them all the way out, a mistake you only make once.
Yep - I didn't know about the lifting off bit until someone gave me the heads up just this week. That's what I like about this forum , people try and help you not go down the same path as they did.
I've done nothing to it of course as a) one of the water tanks has sprung a leak and 2 ) I just sit and stare at the laptop all day waiting for the latest instalment on Wombats bulkhead bolts. I'm going to start a campaign to get any seized bolts named a "Cracker".
cheers,
D
That's not cool Lotz-a-landies!
I'm currently battling my brakes again! :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: I want to burn it! no i'm not that frustrated just yet.... I don't understand how that much air gets into the system.... grrr.... and no fluid wants to come out the front bleeders! I've removed them and still nothing
Maybe a poorly formed end on a hard pipe?
I had a Rover 3500 (same vehicle as the SD1, just came out a year earlier) that blew a master cylinder. They replaced the master cylinder, and it failed a day later. Replaced it again. It failed. Replaced it, no further problems. One of the 'failed' replacements went into another vehicle and gave no issues. I never did hear if they found the problem and this was a reputable brake company too, not some backyarders. I feel your frustration.
