I'm sure you'll get a lot of differing opinions.
I haven't painted a complete chassis only axles & parts of chassis', my latest paint of choice is a Dulux epoxy enamel that you can buy in Bunnings. I brush paint but 'stipple' rather than brush normally. This gives a finish closer to spray painting without brush marks but is hard on brushes (it has to be bristle not synthetic).
The paint comes in matt, satin & gloss.
I've also use White Knight epoxy enamel and a few other brands. All were OK.
POR15 is used by many but be aware that it fades in sunlight. Apparently it gives a high gloss level surface.
You can also achieve this by adding Penetrol to your paint.
A 2-pac would be ideal and very tough but I'm certainly not set up to spray it and I'm often doing small parts here & there so there would be a lot of wastage.
