    Puma suspension modifications

    After all the trouble povman has gone through so close to his big trip, does anybody think a suspention think tank, like the recovery thread, should be started. I know that had I had the input that is available on this forums large data base been known to me I would not have lifted my Puma, and saved a lot of **** and pain. I think also this would help owners of all Land Rover vehicles who choose to modify their vehicles and save them a lot of drama and money. Few off road dealers know Land Rover vehicles as we as owners do. Better we help ourselves than relly on people who know little. As was said in another post today, we drive them every day, we know what works in most situations.

    that kinda makes sense to have data base information for the models early and late with peoples findings in an at a glance chart, with ratings or pro's and cons listed.
    It will not allow for personal taste but will go some way to give a viewpoint that could otherwise cost someone a week or two's wage to discover that X product is a big pile of manure, or actually be detrimental to the vehicle

    I think it will just become part of the 'collective knowledge' of the forum.

    As soon as someone asks about lifting a Puma, they're gonna get told!

    Same as someone buying a TD5 - they find out pretty quickly about oil in the loom, or the loose oil pump bolt, etc

    A quick search should turn up these threads.

    It is a good idea Alan, but after seeing a few with NO issues at all after a lift, and some that are almost undriveable with the SAME suspension fitted, then it is worth mentioning here that I believe chassis jigs and/ or design geometry somewhere was changed about '99 / '00. These are the models I have seen with more issues than any earlier.

    A Cardan joint fixes it straight away. I haven't had a problem with fitting a set of NRC9448/9449 front springs at any point, in any model.
