County, Tdi, Td5 or Puma????
I've drilled a hole through the seat area above the transfer case of the Tdi and run it through a rubber grommet. In the Puma I have the aerial on the back door and it comes in via the seal.

Because my icom 440 UHF unit is mounted on the side of the cubby box I ran the aerial lead from the bull bar through the engine compartment and then under the body and through a ready made hole under the box thereby avoiding the fire wall.
Where are you mounting yours (if that is not too personal)?

Mine is mounted on the front of the cubby box, so the aerial and battery leads go through the seatbox.

mmm,,another egress point for my beloved dust........i will survey the vehicle for options .....
..have noticed a grommet with rear washer hose passing thru...fire wall...will unbolt some dash on the morrow...glad the vehicle has some bolts and is not completely put together with the plastic snap fittings!!

my initial option was the route you have taken,,,,,,,but every vehicle in the past i have managed to run under floor rubber /up kick board and thru fire wall ,,therefore keeping it out of the weather./ scrub strike etc ..... ....... have mouted a bus board in battery box ,6 terminal running d/lights/12v acc / etc etc and plan to put the gme remote unit in there as well.with all controls on handpiece, the gme is very small....
found a product called quick fist clamps which enabeled me to mount tirfor winch and bar under back seat neat and secure ..opening up some more cargo space and making the winch a lot more accesible than having to dig for it.............have owned electric winch,s and they r very good,,,,but
i know the tirfor is old school ,but i dont want more weight on the front of the vehicle and they are so versitile,,,and it goes in when needed ,,as opposed tp lumping it around allways.
Have a look on the firewall where the main wiring harness comes through. This utilises a large rubber grommet which usually has a few unused entry points - just select a suitable size one, cut the end off and pass your cable through.

						Roger is right.
There are two places high up on the fire wall with many nippled grommets.
I used one to get the driving light wiring through ...by cutting the end off one of the unused nipples on the drivers side.
The trick is then to get the cable through the dash to the remote unit.
