Talking Best price for 2011 Discovery SE 3.0 ?

    Hi All,

Seriously considering getting a D4 SE 3.0. What is the best (I mean cheapest) price anyone has paid for one? Include ex-demo up to 10000km.

    Thanks

I ordered a 2012 spec SE 3.0 with an August 2011 build a few weeks ago. No options, although I will perhaps regret not getting the xenon headlights, but that is another story.

As I am currently living in China, all discussions had to be done via email. For what ever reason a few dealers did not bother to respond to my first request for info. However, Paul James of Austral Land Rover

pjames@australmotors.com.au did reply and was most helpful with my many questions.

You need to bear in mind that I have not seen a Discovery for 7 years, as it has been that long since I have lived in OZ. So many questions might have been resolved had I been able to view a Discovery.

I mention all the above, simply to explain that I have been happy with the service and Paul's willingness to reach a suitable price with me. As for how much, I am afraid I can not disclose the figure. I have always adhered to the belief that contract prices and discussions are never disclosed to a third party. Be that as it may, I am happy to indicate that the price was mid to high 80's.

Should you choose to contact Paul, I am sure that he would be willing to discuss what you have in mind. I would also like to state, that I have never met Paul in person, nor spoken to him, nor have had any dealings with him apart from this one purchase.

Good luck with your purchase. We pick ours up in November 2011.

I got mine last week & the demos I saw didn't have much more than 1000 on the clock & made a marginal difference to the price.

Nobody is revealing what they paid as yet, so here we go.
I bought mine late 2009 when there was so much demand and very little stock. My spec ordered was as follows:-
    D4 SE 3.0
e diff, metallic paint, rear air, auto high beam.
Price on road drive away $91,000.00
Interested to know what others paid for similar spec.
    Cheers, Craig

The prices listed here are competitive and will give an idea on where to start bargaining.

    Thanks for the Replys!

So far then - on the web page posted the best price now is $87000 (plus a few dollars in Qld) and in 2009 it was $91000 (with options) so seems to have gone up in price whilst the exchange rate to the Pound has got a great deal better?

Wish we could change the import laws and buy direct from the UK! As far as I can workout could buy D4 SE 3.0 in UK for under A$50000. OK I'm not complaining and know all the tranport, Govt tax and compliance costs and will endup paying the A$ price but...

Maybe... If I could get a near new - ex-demo for A$80000 with a few options would be doing well?

And then Darryl Kerrigan says "Tell him he's dreaming".

Most of the dealers have had specials lately, they have been in the local papers, most 2011 runouts, there are probably some changes coming in the 2012 update models.

The 3.0l are all over 90k,the2.7 in the 80k range, although the 5 seater 2.7 is around 75k driveaway.

Hard to know whether to trust a demo,as i recon many of them get a flogging, not good for a new car.

Paid $92k for my 2009 SE 3L. Had tires swapped to MTR's, side steps, sat nav and reverse camera, mud flaps and rubber mats.

Had 9000kms on the clock as it was a demo.

My D4 SE, White, with Ediff, all the rubber mats and rubber side protectors was very close to $90k in mid June. I think the list price at that time was about $92 on the road, so I was very happy with the deal. We are very pleased with it - as a drivers car, the Japanese 4WD's do not come close in my view.

    Cheers
