Question Disco 4 off road tyres

Does anyone have an opinion on the best off road LT tyres for a disco 4. Current tyres are 265/60R18.

Need to ensure I don't void the warranty.

Looking for abou 70% road 30% mud

    Thanks in advance

Whew! If you just look at the listing of topics you'll see every 4th or 5th one is about tyres!!

There are no LT tyres in that size commonly available. So the question becomes :

Do you really NEED LT tyres, or

Can you do with another size?

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Yep heaps and heaps and heaps and heaps of threads and posts just in the the RRS/D3/D4 section let alone in other areas.

BFGs AT in a slightly larger size (265/65R18LT) but probably not much more.

Cooper AT3's have been awesome for me!
Quiet, comfortable, capable And look the part.
The size is 265/60/18 and no problems with clearance that you may get with the overpriced BFG's.

I agree with Gordon. If you are stuck with 18's, I would think really hard about what you need, rather than want out of your tyres. As I have noted previously in other posts, I am coming around to the view, that you should not look to make big changes to the tyres or suspension on a D3/4, or you risk changing the character of the vehicle. ( and after all, that is why you chose the Disco over other options, isn't it ? ) My opinion.

Do a search. There are a lot of threads on tyres for D3/4's .

You can get the AT3 in LT construction but the size is a little bigger at 275/65/18 with outside diameter of 815mm.
Problems with clearance surely will be an issue.

You are right here. My new Cooper LTZ's are 800mm outside diameter and just rub on the front chassis rails when reversing in my driveway. Haven't been off road with them yet.

Re: AT3's. Great tyre. Almost brought them instead of the LTZ's.
My brother has them on his Hilux and only yesterday, made the comment that they are noisier than the previous ATR's that he had on it. The AT3 is an upgraded version on the ATR (for those that didn't know).

AT3 just awesome. I had Cooper HT before but they were no so good, givinf understeer in the wet. The AT3 has a more aggresive tread but grips so much better. No more noise either.
