Enjoy, reckon its a great part of this great country and could certainly handle spending 3 weeks there again myself.

    Goodluck with the Barra.

    Cheers Ean

    Have fun But

    Hi Pilbara,

I went up with a few lads on our KTMs a couple of weeks back . We were the first vehicles through this year. Just a word of warning keep a good eye on your gear this came from the local copper and was good advice. Fuel is very expensive unleaded $3.40 a litre at the mission cafe bowser. I didnt check the diesel. If you get the chance head out to the Carson river station and the Drysdale River we were trying to get to Cape Londonderry but the river was too deep back in May.There are a few deep holes along his track as one of the boys found out, 3 broken ribs didnt stop him though. Dont miss the Mitchel falls especialy the little Mertens if you like a bit of rock art. My favorite spot was Bachsten camp which is 160 ks inside Mt Elizabeth station the falls there are very impressive and its only a few more k's into Walcotte inslet. My bike broke down way out here and the locals were great they organised a chopper for me and brought my bike back to Derby. I am looking forward to getting back up there asap in the new 90 and with a fridge a few beers and a nice soft mattress. Mike

Due to hold ups and the son in Tasmania looking for snow we have had to put our trip to Middle Lagon of until next month. We leave Perth on August 15th and cannot wait to get into the fish. As you said most goes back, what do you do with so much fish. May see you on the road, have a great trip, it really is a fantastic bit of Australia.

We took the Disco up there about 7 years ago, amazing spot.

I got talking to an engineer in Derby a few years back when I worked up that way, and he had some great stories about the Gibb river road, he had one of the first transport companies up there and used to take fuel and food up to Kulambaru.

Sometimes he'd be gone for months if he got stuck.

Amazing place the Kimberely's. I personally think the WA government is mad for what they are allowing at James Price Point. It really is a special place up there that needs to be conserved and manged properly.

Looks like word has got around. We camped to the nth, up to the east of the mouth of the King Edward River, and didn't see anyone until we got back to Kalumbaru. It was pretty remote.
