    No power from OBD !

    Hi,

just got my nanocom. yesterday it works just as it should be in my pc but it seem my socket in my td5 defender has no power ! It was located out side the cabin just below the cubby box so i tried to clean it but no luck .
I also checked the fuses no 8 and no 5 ( engin box) its just fine ! . The socket has 5 wires i believe the purple should have 12 volt but mine has no power . So i tried to hot wire it from fuse no. 8 and it works but it seems it doesnt interact with ECU and it couldnt read the fault or any other !!

    any advise

Well i believe the only remaining thing to do is to trace the black loom that goes out of the ECU to somewhere , the obd socket is out of this cable but it seem its very hard to trace it and i can see no thing wrong with it from outside .

To be honest I dont really understand your post

Are you saying the OBD plug has been relocated ?
Do you have a copy of RAVE with a wiring diagram?

The wiring of the diagnostic socket is not complicated so it should be relatively easy to fix

If you dont have a wiring diagram I might be able to email you one

Thank "djam1" for trying hard to understand my weak english .

yes the socket was relocated for some reason outside the cabin, i already had a look at the RAV CD accordingly i found that the purple wire in the socket should have 12vlt. power while mine has no power .

the wires should be disconnected in the middle between the fuse box and the socket !! I ended up today to hotwire it from the fuse box to the socket and try to connect my friend ( Autologic) diag. Device and see if it read or not .

    thank yoy for your help.
