do you mean you will be sitting them in the back boot 6 & 7 seats ?
The new dealer in my local town states he may be able to get a new D4 with rear diff but no rear A/C under the bonus dealer plan that is running for the month of August. Car must be delivered by end August. All this for mid $50,000 with our trades.
The only car he has coming has the above specs. As they are a new dealer they have no floor stock.
I have 3 kids that will sit in the back a lot of the time. I am worried about the no air option in the rear.
Can anyone comment weather or not I may be disappointed without rear air or is the A/C good enough. I have never had a car with rear air but this car seems large to be pushing the air back all the time.

Sorry no they will spend most of their time in the second row of seats, very rarely will we have someone in the 3rd row of seats
Hi Banjo Plucker ,
A lot of people think that the rear air option is mainly for the 3rd row passengers, whereas I find it to be a must for the 2nd row passengers. They have their own controls and settings, as there is a second air conditioning unit.
The driver also has the option to control the rear air from the front.
Would not do without it.
Cheers , Craig
I must admit I agree with Craig. I find that the rear air is great and my second row passengers enjoy the difference it as well. While I only have 2 kids, we are carrying extra relatives or friends kids enough to find that the third row is in use regularly.
I was not that fussed about rear air but ended up buying a demo with it. Now, I would say it would be among the first options I would add if purchasing again.
(Mind you - I have not had a D3/D4 without rear air so I have nothing to compare it to)

Having a D2 without rear air, and the short people in the second row all the time, and on occasion in the 3rd row, I know they are constantly asking for me to turn the ac up.
This being the case, when I order the new car, it will certainly have rear air, even if it is just for a little bit of peace & quiet.
My adult children always demand control with our rear air. Its certainly a good thing.
My D4 does not have rear air, and I have 3 young kids in the 2nd row. It's not really a problem for them. I have sat in the back row for over an hour in hot weather and it is OK and I certainly wasn't uncomfortable in any way.
I have sat in a Volvo XC90 with rear air for a 10 hour trip and rear air certainly helps.
So for me I wouldn't see it as essential, but I think it is nice. Also the child that sits in the middle of the 2nd row tends to get a bit more blasted by the central vents than the rest of the kids so I can imagine that having the extra vents etc would give a more even "all around" effect when getting to temperature.
I have rear air in my D3 and find it to be very useful, I certainly wouldn't want to send much time in the 3rdrow without it.
The dealer made a mistake with ours,it was found to have rear air after the deal was done,so it became a no cost option..
We didn't want it as the kids have left us.
I do believe it works well for rear passengers, and also will help in resale.
