    123601228 RACQ 109

I have started this thread on another forum but thought since this is an Australian Veh I should keep a thread here. I purchased the veh about 6 months ago and have so far removed the 2.25 diesel engine and will replace it with a petrol 2.25 for now until I can find a 2ltr engine to put it back to original. The diffs, gearbox and most of the body work are original, for some reason when the engine was changed a S2 front panel and radiator were used and a 86/107 bonnet used. The veh was found in Ayr Queensland at the garage that used it. I now have the proper front panel and bonnet fitted, just getting a radiator changed to work with a later engine. Hope people can help me out with suggestions and parts. Wardy

Coming along nicely Wardy, it all takes time. I know the feeling I post on two forums too. Those that look at both just have to wear it hey.

    Hi Keith,
Know what you mean but hey its better to have both countries seeing progress rather than one.
I have almost extracted the 2.25 engine from a S3 the 253rd made it 1972 so a real early one. Have also done the wiring in the dash so fingers crossed next weekend I can shoehorn in the new engine and maby get it going.
Also still on the lookout for a good 2nd hand bulkhead as the one in the vehicle is well and truly shot.

    Thanks Charlie,
Im going to keep it as a tow truck but will have to fabricate a few of the missing bits and repair some, the 109 sat under a mango tree for about 10 years and has suffered a bit for it.
Im going to try to have it at the Brisbane all British Day next year.

Thanks Keith I might just take up that offer
I am breaking a 60 model for the accelerator linkages since they are much the same as a Series 1's, Ill also put the S2 hand throttle in, but will keep the S1 items aside for later on.

    Hi there Wardy

I have seen a few of these restored within UK magazines - but nice to see there is one in Oz.

Looking forwards to the build progress

    All the best

    Wayne
