    Hi mate,

I have a 110 MY2014 5-seat wagon with the 2.2L Tdci. Just under 6,000 km on the clock and total average fuel economy is about 10.8 L / 100 km. This includes daily drive to work, relatively limited highway travel so far, plus several off road trips and a few long hours of low range.

A week ago we did a drive down to Thredbo and back, pretty much all bitumen, returning 10.08 L / 100 km.

    No towing yet.

    Cheers,
    Nige

I drive for economy and get less than 10l / 100km. This is a 2.4 130 with an alloy canopy, roof tent and bullbar. Highway or around town (Canberra) I get the same.

I got 15l when towing a fully loaded troopy with a camprite trailer.

I have an '09 Defender 110 with the 2.4L engine fitted with mud tyres on factory allows and an ARB heavy duty roof rack.

When I ferried her back from FNQ on the back highways I averaged 9.5-10L/100kms whilst cruising comfortably at 100km/hr. Up the speed to 120km/hr and the consumption increases quite a bit to around 12-13L/100kms (the old drag increase exponentially).

With the new roof rack permanently fitted the consumption has increased a little but not by a huge amount.

I have a long distance heavy tow in the next month so I could provide a better figure after that.

4BD1 engine, County wagon. Over the last 500,000km I have kept full fuel records, and consumption has varied 10.5 - 11.5 l/100km mostly pretty close to eleven, regardless of the type of driving or towing up to two tonnes. The only thing that seems to increase it is sustained driving over 110kph (which does not happen very often).

Td5 Defender 110. 250,000k's of records. Averages about 10-12l/100k. Only factor that changes this is who is driving. If I drive - 12l. If my wife drives 10ks. Perhaps I drive it a little harder than she does.

Just had it chipped/modded so it now drives better than my old V8. Wow... but fuel consumption has gone up somewhat - 13l when I drive and 10 when the wife drives it. But I can get air over some of the bumpy roads out the back of our place and frankly that extra 1-2 l/100 is worth it....

when towing our camper trailer ~1.5tons it still got around 11.5 l/100k's which is not too bad really.

I also have a 2.2 Puma, and that's doing about 11.8l/100k on average.

    Much the same John.
4BD1 with 650,000 on clock, consistently getting 10l/100km, as long as I keep the pressure off the right foot.

I have a 2013 D90 bog standard nearly 30 000km. Empty I get about 10-11L/100km highway empty. With my 1ish tonne camper about 13L/100km. With 3 people, roof bars and a series roof on top, car trailer with a SWB series (filled with spare parts) on that I got closer to 18L/100km but I wasn't being especially kind either.

Mine is also a stock-standard 2013 Defender 90, and my daily driver. My average fuel usage is 8.7L/100kms. I have always kept records of my fuel usage over many years for different cars. Admittedly I am light footed and I don't thrash my cars. Over the years I believe I've saved quite a fair amount of money in fuel savings.
