Hi there,
Son #1 came around to my place yesterday so that we could fit a 2nd hand valve block and driver to his P38 (2000 Bosch/Thor). He has previously had an ABS/TC fault show up on his message centre, but the fault disappeared after a little while.
When he got my my place yesterday he said that the ABS Fault error had popped up again on the way over. I thought, well let's add that to the list of things to look at after we do the Valve Block.
The problem is that now, we have a hard "ABS Fault - Slow to 55" fault, and because of it I can't get the EAS Compressor to run to charge up the air tank to 150psi. Yippee! The P38 is on the bumps stops in my driveway.

I have run a generic OBDII code scanner on the P38 ECU and come up with a P1590 code. But this would be a spurious code from the Engine ECU because the generic scanner can't talk to the P38 SLABS ECU.
I believe the problem will be either;
- any one, or combination of ABS wheel sensors
- ABS Accumulator
- the SLABS ECU itself (it's the black box type)
- alternator (low voltage)
- or a wiring fault

I'm not real keen to start throwing parts at it unless I have an idea of where to start. Thus my question...
Is there anyone on the forum here who would be willing to either lend me a P38 code reader, or come along to my place and pull the codes for me?
The car is in outer eastern Melbourne, and there's a slab of beer on offer for anyone who is keen to give me a hand.
PM me if you're in a position to help.
Thanks guys.
