Is this the correct grade of Syntrans for the R380?

Read the label - that is not Syntrans but is SynTrax.

You need SynTrans.

either that or penrite 75/80 semi syn which is what I use, much better cold shifting 1st to 2nd, tried 75/85 had trouble with first to second.
now shifts sweet I would have thought that 75/85 would be a bit heavy for the cooler down there cheers.

If you had problems with Syntrans then there was an issue with your gearbox.

I used it here in Canberra -5 mornings in winter and it worked fine.

Syntrans takes a while to show its advantages depending what lube was in prior to the change

Once it kicks in it is great unless you have a mechanical issue
