Whos D4 on the 4WD show liftout???

There is an awesome looking black MY14 on the cover of the lift out for the 4WD show in this mornings West.
    Belong to anybody on here???.
Love the rack, the wheels look different from GOE items, may be wrong. It has WA plates.
Cant find any pics of it on the net, perhaps somebody could scan a pic and post it.

    Hi Andy,

Pick up the Oct '14 issue of 4x4 Australia. It is featured on pages 62-68. Very nice looking D4.

    Andrew,

To fit those rims he ground down his calipers....something I certainly would not do.

They have the heat sink for a reason. In one of the magazines he confesses to this.

But yes it does look very nice.

In the article he mentions it is a 'Front Runner slimline roof rack'.

Thats stupidity.Wouldnt bother insuring it as they wont pay in event of a claim. If involved in a fatal accident the police will prosecute.

LandyAndy, It belongs to a member on this forum, goes by the name of 4offroad. It is a very well set up vehicle indeed. I believe that the only grinding was shaving the knobs (top of the calliper) down by two mm and not the whole calliper? The roof rack I believe came from OL.

Here is a link to 4offroads D4 in the picture section, when asked he mentions that they have modified the callipers so as to fit 18" rims.

To say the least its a very nice looking D4 and I for one would be interested to find out if slightly modifying the calliper definitely 100% affects insurance and road worthiness.

Link goes to Page 20 of the photos thread - 4offroad's Disco is on Page 47 for those who are looking.

Andrew - the roofrack is the same as mine - looks a little different at the front, as it has the OEM side rails on the vehicle whereas mine doesn't.

I've seen the same rims fitted to other vehicles - was looking at a Jeep with a set on them recently - but never seen them on a Disco yet. Like Terry - I would be interested to know just how much modification to calipers was required to fit the rims, and whether this would affect safety / legality of the vehicle.
    Cheers .........
