No play in the new ones now fitted to mine and they're quiet too! The right one was considerably worse than the left - I expected the opposite.
Gday All,
Was checking the brake pads today and whilst I had each wheel off the ground I checked for play in each wheel by grabbing the top and bottom of the tyre and wiggling it.
The front passenger side had more play than what I would have expected.
Both rear wheel had a very small amount.
The front drivers side had 0 not even the smallest amount.
I have done the front lower arms a few years back, so I plan on checking the torque on the front passenger side main hub nut to see if I haven't tensioned it properly.
So my question is are they meant to have any play at all ?
I assume that you have to buy the hub assembly or are the bearings able to purchased.
Thanks and Cheers Ean

I wonder if lowering to accses height once parked causes alot of these suspension/wheel bearing issues(no pointing fingers at you Ean).I have been trying to hit lower on mine whilst still moving. Its a fair amount of stress on these components once parked/in park/handbrake on.
Just a thought.

Ean, as Rich says, fronts are entire hub assembly but looks like the rears are able to have the bearings repalaced:
Front: LR014147 Hub Assembly
Rear: LR021939 Bearing kit
A good vid on replacing the front:

Thanks All,
So like always just had a quick look on ebay and there is a price range from $120 - $350 so looks like I will have some reading to do. Will do both as cant see the point in doing 1 and not the other.
I see there seems to be a bearing kit and complete hub available for the rears.
Cheers Ean

Me too with my wife. I now just automatically put it into access height and if I think about it do it as I cross over the footpath from the road so half and half stationary or moving. No trouble so far after 17 months. I did read on a previous thread that it will wear out the compressor etc but figure I'd rather that happen under warranty hopefully. Then again I've always believed in Murphy's Law.
