    county/defender doors

I've got a 1988 county 110with push button doors and recently purchased some S/H county doors in PC but just noticed they have liftup door handles- i assumed all counties used the same doors but later model ones must have defender type ones like mine. I assume they're interchangeable but will look a bit strange with 2 different type of doors on front/rear.

the are *sort of* interchangeable... i wanted to put later type doors on mine from a 2002 with central locking, electronic windows and functional door locks however the later type doors are much thicker.. also the later type seats are closer together so the doors fit.

so you can fit early doors on a later one much more easily than vice versa.

to fit the later doors on mine i would have had to modify and engineer my seat box.. but I'm not 100% that everyone would as i have aftermarket seats.

so yes it should work for you but maybe not others going the other way around. (you'll need a later type strike as well).

As flagg says, the doors are more or less interchangeable, with the difference that the later doors are thicker.

The change was in 1987, and although the later doors are better engineered, the older door you have, if it is in good condition, is probably worth considerably more than a later one, as these are a lot rarer, and most owners, as you note, will want matching doors. The doors from 1987 to current look the same and are interchangeable, although I think the last few years are steel skinned rather than alloy.

And the latest, correct me if I'm wrong, are not square internally at the base but are curved so the seals actually work.

yes. but you can also fit those seals to older doors and they are great.

Oh fantastic - thanks flagg - I'll do that after I cut out the copious amounts of rust
